Intelius, Inc. , Intelligence in One Go
June 10th, 2009
In December 2002 Naveen Jain left InfoSpace, a telephone and address content provider for major web properties which he founded to start Intelius, Inc., an online info-commerce company that provides predictive intelligence for important everyday decisions. Utilizing a massive information network, the company offers to interpret facts and figures with accuracy and speed, efficiently facilitating intelligent and informed decision-making processes. One of the Top 100 commerce sites on the Web, Intellius offers a wide array of services that includes people search, ID theft protection products, and human resources services like employment screening.
Intelius people search offers a variety of search options that presents a comprehensive service suite that consumers have found to be very useful. Consumers can easily conduct searches and retrieve basic information on themselves and about specific individuals. Results vary with the amount of data available in public sources but report options include credit records, phone records, and neighborhood and address history, etc.
The innovative products and services Intelius provides have proven indispensable to people from all walks of life. Landlords can check on potential lessees if they have dubious backgrounds, human resource personnel can more effectively hire deserving applicants, and parents can prevent their children from interacting with known sex offenders.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Intelius also offers a stealth option; the company can scan the Internet for sensitive information about its clients and hide it. This way, if someone does a search for one of its clients, it will turn up nothing.
With several awards and citations earned, including “Best New Company” (the Stevies; 2006), one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For in Washington State (Washington CEO; 2008), and “Most Innovative Company” finalist (the Stevies; 2007); Intellius has indeed created indispensable products that have garnered a substantial demand from its market base.
