The Halloween flavor can hit you at any time. But if you’ve been motivated to go out for tricks and treats at the eleventh hour, a handy costume may be difficult to find. Never fear, we have some ready and easy costumes that you can set up with items from home to help you look your best on Halloween.
Mighty Hero Costume (boys 4-6)
If your young guy swears he has superpowers, gratify him with this splendid disguise.
* Buy your tyke a individualized superhero cape with his initials on the back! Match it with one of his colored sweatsuits and stick on a couple of shiny felt stars to the front of the sweatshirt.
* Lend his rain boots and a couple of swimming goggles or over-sized sunglasses and he’ll be equipped to save Halloween!
Fashionista Pop Celebrity Attire (delightful for pre-tweens, 7+)
Make her aspirations come true (for at least one evening)! Let her get dressed as her favored singing sensation, as sure to be hit as this is a glamorous attire. Read these Halloween ideas to ready this costume.
* Decorate a pair of old denims with sparkle spray and a couple of funky iron-ons. Apply cool peace signs, decorated designs and anything else.
* Dress a plain, long sleeve t-shirt in her favorite color. We enjoy this “Rock Princess” iron-on or she can draw on her own figures with sparkly fabric paint or other ornamentations.
* Grab her favored boots and dark glasses and swanky costume jewellery to complete the look!
The Yoda pooch costume is definitely my favorite. There’s something about those green ears that is just fantastic! Your dog can likewise dress as Princess Leia or Darth, and you have a throng of “Star Wars” character costumes to select from.

Takumi is the place to visit if you are in the mood for a culinary chef-d’oeuvre. This Melbourne Japanese restaurant is the best of its kind. Not only is the food of tremendous quality, but the location and design of the restaurant produces a relaxing and enjoyable ambience.
Takumi is the only Melbourne Japanese restaurant that serves Wagyu beef. Wagyu is a top grade cut of beef that is second to none. It is so tender and juicy, it can almost melt in your mouth. You can get this beef cooked in many styles. The Wagyu beef burger, grilled and marinated with Sukiyaki sauce is a popular selection among lunchtime visitors. Personally, I recommend trying the Wagyu Yakiniku Lunch Set. The beef is served raw and is cooked on a tableside grill. Accompanied by veggies and a complimentary glass of beer or wine. Not only does this taste scrumptious, but being able prepare it yourself adds an added touch of magic.
This Japanese restaurant may specialize in Wagyu beef, but that is not the only delicacy it has to offer. A bento box is also a fun way to enjoy your lunch. Takumi offers several options on the main entree for the bento box. A popular Japanese entree is Gyoza. These pan fried dumplings are super good and addictive. You cannot stop at one. If you are a seafood fan, order yourself the Unagi Bento Box. Unagi is smoked grilled eel and is a very popular and delicious Japanese restaurant dish.
The decor and lighting of the restaurant has a very zen-like feel. You will feel right at home when dining here. The sleek and comfortable tan chairs and subtle ornaments have a sedating affect and lets you to feel like you are having a quiet meal at home, even though you are in the presence with other people.
Overall, Takumi is a marvelous Japanese restaurant. From their delicious menu offerings, to the many different choices of Sake, this Melbourne Japanese restaurant is number one in my book.

You want your fruit baskets to appear welcomingas if to say: ‘come and have a piece of fruit!’ The hardest thing about choosing a fruit basket as a gift is to choose one that will have just enough fruit for the receiver.
Some fruit baskets come in huge baskets, covered with décor and filled with fruits. As beautiful as it may seem, you don’t want to give such a large fruit basket to one personunless that person has company over often enough that the fruit will not go to waste. However, as luxurious as these huge fruit baskets are, you can find smaller ones that are just as lovely.
The gigantic fruit baskets I mentioned above are great presents for the office or to bring to any party. These will also make a lovely addition to holliday decor. Bring a fruit basket to the host of a Christmas or thanksgiving party etc. Fruit baskets are great to ship out to people, too. A great way to say “Happy Holidays” is through an elegant, well designed fruit basket.
If the group you are gifting is a bit smaller, say for example a four person family with two older kids who do not snack at home very much, you will want to get a fruit basket with enough fruit but not too much. You will have to judge all of your fruit baskets this way, based on how many people will likely eat the fruit quickly enough.
Some fruit baskets are designed for smaller parties, or even individuals that are not tiny or unimpressive. Fruit baskets are available on the market which are fairly large, but with more decoration and less fruit inside. That way you can give someone a great fruit basket that will be a beautiful touch to his or her home or office, and most importantly, the fruit inside is less likely to go bad.
Selecting fruit baskets can be hard, because so many of them are so nice looking and there are so many options to choose from. But always consider the amount of fruit you will be giving away before purchasing a fruit basket for your friends, family, or co-workers.

It’s been on FoodTV with Alton Brown. You’ve seen it in your
gourmet magazines. You’ve heard of it, but you don’t know what
it is, what it’s for, or where to get it. We are talking about
smoked
salt, a hot new trend in the gourmet food marketplace.
Imagine being able to have that amazing fresh off the grill
flavor no matter what the weather or season! Essentially smoked
salt, is either sea or kosher salt, that has been saturated with
the flavor of smoke, typically hickory, pecan, apple, or other
flavourful woods. Smoked salt has been around for a very long
time, and it is believed that the tradition began with the
Danish smoking salts during the times of the Viking.
While many smoked salt products on the market are salt that has
been soaked in liquid smoke, or salt that has been combined with
powdered smoke, our Hickory smoked sea and kosher salt is slowly
smoked over a clean burning hickory, maple or apple wood fire,
with absolutely no added artificial smoke, colorants or
flavourings. Over time, the smoke infuses the salt and creates a
mild, but distinct smoked flavor with that hearty aroma of your
favourite BBQ restaurant!
Subtle and yet robust, smoked salt
from Caroline’s Rub adds an extra dimension of flavor to
your favourite dishes. It can be used anywhere that you would
normally use salt, and can actually replace that iodized stuff
at the table. Keep in mind that sea salt is a larger grain salt
that will require a grinder, whereas kosher salt is a true
sprinkling salt.
One of our favourite ways to use the salt, is to take the
traditional Tomato-Bocconcini-Basil salad to a whole new level
simply by sprinkling the smoke infused salt over the dish prior
to serving. Also, you can use it to sprinkle over your steak,
pork chop, chowders…anywhere you want to kick up the flavor
factor and add that fresh off the grill flavor.
Try some true smoked
salt today, and we guarantee you won’t want to find yourself
without it!

Capsaicin is the active chemical compound that makes chili peppers “hot”. This is why they call it hot sauce!. It is the plants natural adaptation for deterring plant eating animals. Capsaicin will irritate any part of the human body that it comes into contact with. Different chili peppers contain varying amounts of capsaicin. Capsaicin is mostly found inside the core of the pepper pod as well as on the external skin. It is therefore essential that latex or rubber gloves are worn not only when cooking with very hot peppers but also when harvesting and handling them. The chemical compound can produce a waxy appearance on the outside of the pepper pod. If you find yourself in a situation in which you are experiencing the physiological effects of capsaicin overload, it is best to either consume dairy products such as milk or hard alcohol. The compounds found in milk block capsaicin receptor sites in the mouth while alcohol is effective in dissipating the capsaicin compound so that it can be swallowed. Drinking water will often spread the irritation, so try to avoid it. Capsaicin that gets on your skin will not degenerate significantly from washing with soap and water. I often use rubbing alcohol when I find that my hands are burning because of an accidental transfer of capsaicin. I would not recommend this for everyone, since some people with sensitive skin may have a negative reaction to rubbing alcohol.
