How to Download Free Ringtones

Ringtones are very popular these days. People personalize their mobile phones with different ringtones using several file formats, either monotonic, polyphonic and even full-length songs in mp3 or MIDI format.

You can either buy ringtones or get them for free. So where do you find free tones and music? The Internet. There you can find loads and loads of tones to choose from. Different websites have thousands of tones in online libraries, categorized by genre or classification, so you’ll not have a hard time finding the ringtone you’ve always wanted. So - how can you get these free tones and music for your cell phone? There are few simple steps.

First, check your mobile phone to make sure it’s compatible with the type of tones that you want. Say, for example, you want to use a ringtone in mp3 format - to use it, your phone should be able to use mp3 tones.

Once you find a tone you like on the Internet, you can ensure your phone is compatible with it by opening your WAP browser and typing the tone’s URL. After you’ve confirmed that it’s compatible, save the ringtone on your phone.

So how do you download the tone you want? Once you’ve found it, you can download it by clicking on the ringtone of your choice. A new window will pop up with a WAP address that you must enter into your phone’s WAP browser.

When it comes to searching for your free tone using a web browser, you should specify the song and enter the title or description into a search engine. And if you are unable to find the free polyphonic tone you are searching for on your first try, use more specific terms. You can add the format type like “Britney.mid” for polyphonic ringtone or “greenday.mp3″ for a song or “always.3gp” for the video ringtone. Also remember to include the words “free ringtone” to narrow your search.

You can also download ringtones by using a data cable to transfer it to your phone. Data cables can be found at electronics stores or you can visit elite-wireless.com to find one compatible to your phone. You can also check tagshop.com, where you can find cables for a wide range of cell phone brands and models.

So that’s how you can download and get your free ringtone right away!

Free Cell Phones

Most of us cell phone geeks have heard about the term ‘free cell phone’. We may have gone through it either online or seen them advertised in the print media. Cell phones as we all know are no longer just instruments of communication. They are virtually handheld computers. They are also becoming fashion accessories. With features increasing day by day, it is no wonder that we want to go in for latest models, within a matter of months. These gizmos have become part and parcel of our lives. Most of us cannot do without one, however we may wish so. This being the scenario, if someone told you that they were offering cell phones for free, you will be left wondering, how on earth can one offer a cell phone absolutely free?

One may have come across merchants who offer free cell phones. Unfortunately, everything under the sun has a price tag attached to it. There are hidden costs involved. For one thing, even if you get a free phone, you still have to pay the service provider for activating it on a network.

Several merchants offer cell phones free via rebate. You pay first and are reimbursed later. You have to sometimes wait for more than two months for a reimbursement. Research has shown that a majority of buyers forget to claim the reimbursement or just don’t bother to wait for it after a period of time. Added to it lies the fact that the entire claim process is complicated. There may even be an expiration date on the rebate.

Some cell phone manufacturers actually ask you to sign a contract requiring you to commit to a particular network for a least specified period of time, which may range up to two years. Or they may insist that you use the service of particular networks only. In fact your free phone may be compatible with these networks only. Last but not least, some of these so-called free cell phones can be disappointing when it comes to overall quality and features. It therefore makes sense to shell out something for a cell phone, rather than get it free.
